Do I need to read music to be a part of this group?Having some ability to read music will be helpful, but if you have a good ear for learning parts, you should be fine. I can teach you enough about reading music, and you'll get better with practice.

I don't know if I can sing. Can I still join the group?Fill out the survey and let's find out! It's true that to be a part of a choir you need to be able to learn your part and blend with a group. A lot of people have that skill and haven't developed it. We'll assess it together, and if it turns out that's not your skill, I'll be honest with you. If that's the case, there may be some other place for you as things develop.

I know I can't sing. Can I still join the group?Contact me! As the "About" page on this site indicates, I hope to build a larger community service function to this group that goes beyond the choir. As that develops I'd like to believe there is a role for anyone. Likewise, if you have skills for social media, marketing, or other things that can help build our infrastructure, let me know!

Why does the donation link go to a Fractured Atlas web page? Who are they?Fractured Atlas is a fiscal sponsorship organization specifically for artists. Fiscal sponsorship allows independent artists to solicit donations under a non-profit, 501c3 designation. This allows you to claim your donation as a deduction on your taxes. They do take an 8% administrative fee on any funds released, and ensure that released money goes toward the intended project. Beyond that, CLCC has complete control over where the money goes.
